 “Protect Our Paths!”
By Ron Jones, MS

I have been intrigued and excited by all the work along the Panorama Pathway lately.  Construction crews have been grading, trenching, piping, planting, watering, and yes—wasting our hard earned tax payer money on something so disgusting, so revolting, so foul that I have problems even discussing it in a respectable publication like The Blackboard—they have also been cleaning up after scum bag, social deviant, human trash losers also known as “taggers.”  Why is that when we do get something nice in Bakersfield it has to be trashed by a bunch of low lifes?!  And worse, why do we accept this as something that is beyond our control and “normal.”  BULL!  I’m sick of seeing this tagging crap everywhere!

Money is tight, our state is bankrupt, the moron taggers keep wasting our money on clean ups.  The City of Bakersfield has their own graffiti removal program complete with their own building, crew of city employees, trucks, painting equipment, and yes, digital cameras to record and log every single clean up so we can categorize the “moniker” of each tagger.  The moniker is their trademark of trash i.e. “low life logo” if you will.  This is a multi-million dollar operation and for what?  To clean up after losers!  Taggers do NOTHING to contribute to a decent society.  They live to screw stuff up and waste money because they respect nothing and care about nothing except their stupid gang affiliation and idiotic narrow view of their four-block worlds.

It’s time to take a stand to protect our pathways and other areas of recreation so our children and citizens can safely play and exercise without being in danger of gangsters.  In addition to taggers and gangsters, two of our nice emergency phones along the Kern River Pathway have recently been destroyed by vandals.  What’s up with this?  I’m mad as hell and don’t want to take it anymore!  We don’t get many nice things in Bakersfield for quality outdoor experiences like our pathways along Panorama and the Kern River.  We need to do our part to stand up to the human trash that is destroying our pathway improvements before they are even complete!  The Panorama Pathway has tagging on the new utility boxes even before they were finished.  The construction workers' pickups, storage sheds, water trucks, and back hoes have all been tagged.  It looks like crap!  The gangsters are going to ruin this area before it is even complete unless we stand up and kick some asses!  Wake up Bako—it is in “your” back yard now and not just in LA.

Next month, cool fitness stuff to do within a few hours of driving—where the air is clean!  Until then, stay fit, stay active, and stop some tagging!
